Portrait Commissions

I offer unique, one of a kind, and hand painted portraits of people and companions (pets). My pieces are designed with my touch, whimsical and ethereal atmospheres while sharing the likeness of the individual I am painting.

We work closely together, find the right photograph to work from, discuss the mood and colors for the piece, and you obtain an original piece of work that you'll find no where else. I do not use AI in any of my works, just reference photos if needed.

Watercolor Background

Commission a piece with an organic and texture filled background. It remains abstract and atmospheric.

Narrative Background

Create a narrative - a story - around the portrait like forest, flowers, etc. This requires more time and sketching.

Process​​

  • Find a photo to work from 
    I will work with you to find the best pose and lighting from what you have on hand. 
    You are allowed up to 2 subjects, persons or companions (pets).

    • Additional Persons/Companions: $50 each​

 

  • Total cost of entire project sent via email
    I want to be completely transparent with my clients, so shipping, taxes, and total for the project will be sent upfront before further payments are made.
     

  • Concept Sketch - $25 upfront fee
    Up to 2 revisions

    • Additional Mockups: $20 per revision
       

  • Agree on sketch - 50% deposit
    Once the concept sketch is agreed upon, a 50% deposit of the total cost (minus tax and shipping) is to be paid. This ensures commitment to the commission and pays me for the work I am doing until finished. Payments must be sent via PayPal or Venmo.
     

  • Progress photos 
    Sent every few days of working on the piece. Communication during this time is important, if something isn't working this is a good time to discuss.
     

  • Final approval Once completed I will send a small .jpg via email to confirm it's all good. In this stage we can tweak some finishing touches or add more like leaves or textures.
     

  • Final 50% paid
     

  • Ship original painting to you!
    All commissions are packaged with a backboard in a plastic sleeve along with a certificate of authenticity. Shipping costs vary depending on size of piece.

I work on one commission at a time. The finished date will depend on where your commission lands in the line of work being done. You will be notified when you can expect your piece to be finished when the Project Total is sent via email.

Terms of Service - User Agreement - Copyright

All fees, deposits, and sales are final. Each step in the commission process takes time and energy.
I reserve the right for the commissioned piece to be used in my portfolio and prints I sell personally. Finalized images will be shared on social media and my newsletters. I am open to discussing the use and/or limitations of the image if brought to my attention.
Purchasing an original painting does not mean you are purchasing the rights to the artwork. All copyright to the image still belong to me, the artist. In no way may the commission be used for distribution or sales by the commissioner. This includes NFTs, cryptocurrency, licensing, advertising, or any such body for profit.  
You must agree to these terms for the commission to proceed forward.
